THIS Literary Magazine welcomes submissions in a range of categories and writing styles. We look for fresh, imaginative pieces that stay with us long after we've clicked to another page.

PREVIOUSLY PUBLISHED:
We accept previously published work only if it previously appeared IN PRINT. We do not accept work previously published online.
This excludes work that appears on a private, members-only site and work that appears on your personal website, blog, or Facebook page.
DEADLINES:
We accept submissions on a rolling basis and publish a new issue every two months.
RESPONSE TIMES:
We do our best to respond no later than six weeks from the date of your submission; however, we are a busy, all-volunteer staff. Do not query the editors for information on the status of your submission until eight weeks have passed.
IF WE PUBLISH YOUR WORK:
You must wait at least two issues (four months) before submitting new work for consideration.
LEGAL:
We hold First North American Electronic Rights for each submission we publish. After three months, the rights for your piece return to you, the author, to reprint and republish elsewhere so long as attribution is given to THIS Literary Magazine and a link to our website. We retain the rights to archive your piece on our website. If simultaneously submitting, you will inform us of publication of your piece elsewhere and may lose the right to have your piece published by us. If submitting, you are responsible for ensuring that you have full rights to submit and publish your piece elsewhere, including with us. By submitting, you acknowledge that your submission is yours and that you have not plagiarized it in whole or in part and that you are its sole creator. By submitting, you agree to these terms and conditions, as stated above.
PAYMENT:
We regret that we cannot pay our writers at this time.
Fiction
Fiction can be any length, including flash and micro fiction If you submit a piece longer than 3,000 words, the quality should justify the length.We're not looking for a particular style, per se, but we expect good things from you and your submission. We hope that you'll justify our optimism.
We will consider simultaneous submissions; however, if your story is accepted elsewhere you must IMMEDIATELY withdraw it from consideration.
We do not accept multiple submissions; wait to hear from us before submitting new work for consideration.
Poetry
Size limit: Max: 8 pages
Send us 2-5 poems of your best work with individual poems no longer than 2 pages in length. Include your bio in the body of your submission; otherwise, we will create a fun and irreverant one for you.
Poetry submissions can be up to 8 pages total. Anything over 8 pages will be declined unread.
We will consider simultaneous submissions; however, if a poem is accepted elsewhere, we ask that you withdraw your ENTIRE submission and resubmit with a full batch of available poems. DO NOT email the editors with poem withdrawal announcements.
If you must withdraw your work due to acceptance elsewhere, do not submit a new batch of poems more than once per month; additional submissions will be declined unread.
Multiple submissions are not accepted and will not be read or responded to; wait until you receive a response from us before submitting again.

Creative Non-Fiction
We accept creative non-fiction submissions of any length and on any topic, though submissions longer than 3,000 words should justify the length.We will consider simultaneous submissions; however, you must withdraw your piece IMMEDIATELY upon acceptance elsewhere.
We will not consider multiple submissions; wait until you have heard back from us before submitting again.
Do not submit more than once in a two month period.
Graphic Novels/Comics
We're excited to publish quality graphic novels/comics.There are no restrictions on length of graphic fiction submissions or comic strips.
We will consider simultaneous submissions; however, you must withdraw your piece IMMEDIATELY if it is accepted elsewhere.
We will consider multiple submissions not to exceed more than three submissions per month.
Photography & Artwork
We accept original photography and artwork and are particularly interested in visual art that we can use to accompany the written work published on our site.Video/Audio
We're excited to publish mixed media and encourage you to be bold and creative with your submissions.We will consider simultaneous submissions; however, you must withdraw your piece IMMEDIATELY if it is accepted elsewhere.
